If Tinder is for vanilla hookups and Bumble is for brunch dates that fizzle out by Wednesday, 3Fun and Feeld are for people who scribble outside the lines (Me! 🙋♀️) . Both apps cater to the kink-friendly adventurous – couples exploring threesomes, singles seeking kink-friendly play, and the gloriously non-monogamous crowd. But while they swim in the same sexy pool, these apps are very different beasts.
We gave both a whirl – Feeld for 6 months (& counting) and 3Fun for 3 solid months. What we found? They’re not even in the same league. While 3Fun has great UI potential, it just doesn’t have a large enough and serious enough userbase to make it worth your while. Here’s the side-by-side comparison you didn’t know you needed.
We spill even more tea in our latest Vanilla Swingers podcast episode.

📱 Sign-Up & Profile Setup
3Fun: Signing up is super simple – and notably couple-friendly. You and your partner can sign up as a couple from the start, with both your usernames and ages listed. You’re prompted to upload photos, fill in a bio (which, spoiler alert, many people on 3Fun ignore), and you have the option to verify one of your pictures for extra credibility. But the biggest issue? 3Fun leaves you a blank slate. There are NO profile prompts, NO sexuality selectors, and NO desires or interest tags to choose from. Just a text box labeled “Bio” – and you’re on your own. Maybe because of that, a huge number of users just… don’t bother. Seriously. A shocking majority of 3Fun profiles are completely blank. Zip. Zero. Zilch. You’re left trying to decode a vibe from one blurry photo and a mysterious username like “HotFunTimes77.” Good luck. That said, 3Fun doesn’t let you upload screenshots. So if you’re hoping to post anything other than a photo like we did on Feeld? Forget it.
Feeld: In contrast, Feeld makes you do a little work upfront – and that’s a good thing. You start as a single user (there is no option to sign up as a couple!). Aside from that though, Feeld asks thoughtful, identity-driven questions like your orientation (heteroflexible? gynosexual? queer? straight? bisexual?) as well as a pre-selected Desire category (e.g. Threesomes, Group, Kink, FFM, Singles, Intimacy, Flirting, etc), as well as Interests (which can be sexy or totally not). Even when someone skips the bio, their desires and interests usually offer something to go on – like breadcrumbs to their intentions. 3Fun you don’t even know what their sexuality is, nothing to go on!
👉 Winner: Feeld, because detailed profiles are way hotter than digital tumbleweeds.

📍 Location, Roaming & Travel
This one’s a big deal if you travel or like to keep your kinky side off the local radar.
3Fun: Absolutely slays in the location department. You can set your roam location to literally anywhere in the world – Timbuktu if you want. Going on vacation? Planning a naughty weekend? Want to peek at the sexy locals before you land? Just change your location and you’re instantly swiping in that city. This is also a clutch feature if you’re trying to stay discreet and not show up in your hometown’s feed. No GPS spoofing, no third-party apps – just choose and go. What a breath of fresh air!
Feeld: On the other hand, Feeld makes it really hard to change locations. You’re limited to a handful of pre-set major cities, and we’re talking only the big names – New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Miami. Denver? Nope. New Orleans? Not a chance. We had to use a GPS spoofing tool (iAnyGo) just to scope out potential playmates on our recent travels.
👉 Winner: 3Fun, by a mile. Sexy globe-trotters and privacy lovers, take note.

👀 Userbase: Who’s Actually On?
Let’s talk numbers and energy. Because even the best-designed app means nothing if no one’s using it.
3Fun: On 3Fun, the crowd is… sparse. And flakey. In 3 months, we matched with a dozens of profiles, but most of them never messaged back—or worse, didn’t even see the message. Thankfully, 3Fun has “Sent” and “Seen” indicators in chat, so we could tell that many of our messages just sat there unread. That wasn’t ghosting – it was just pure inactivity. The vibe? Casual to the point of comatose.
Feeld: Meanwhile, Feeld feels alive. It’s buzzing with people who actually show up. You’ll find couples, singles, kinksters, flirty unicorns and Kat’s favorite single manicorns aplenty – and most of them are looking with intention. We saw tons of profiles that said things like “My friend recommended this app,” which is a sign of strong word-of-mouth credibility. Contrast that with 3Fun, where we literally saw more than one profile asking “Is this app even real?”
👉 Winner: Feeld, no question. Because sexy is great – but only if it answers your messages.

🔄 Swiping, Matching & Second Chances
Let’s talk swipe mechanics, because we all know one accidental left swipe can haunt you forever.
3Fun: It gives you the chance to fix your mistakes. Accidentally passed on someone? No problem. You can head to your “Passed” tab and re-review them. And if you’re a speed swiper like Kat, this is a lifesaver. Gamechanger!! Even better, all profile pics on 3Fun can be pinched to zoom in. That blurry pic from 20 feet away? You can finally see if it’s a six-pack or a shadow. As you swipe, 3Fun forces you to make a decision, like NOW. Yes or no or you cannot move on. Whatever happened to indecision!? Sheesh!
Feeld: By contrast, Feeld is ruthless. If you swipe left, they’re gone forever. And I mean FOREVER. There’s no “undo,” no second look, no ‘Passed’ tab. You better hope that mystery hottie also swipes right, or it’s a forever missed connection. Also, no zooming on photos. If they’re blurry, tough luck. Feeld allows you a maybe – you can swipe away to the next person if you’re not ready to say yes or no.
👉 Winner: 3Fun, for swipe-friendly flexibility and facial recognition.

💬 Messaging, Privacy & Read Receipts
Both apps have similar messaging features – chat unlocks once there’s a mutual like, and you can send self-destructing photos. Great for privacy-minded folks (guilty as charged!) who don’t want their sexy headshots floating around forever.
3Fun: It ups the ante with read receipts. You can see when someone’s read your message (shows ‘Seen’ as opposed to ‘Sent’ to show your message has been read), or if they haven’t logged in since last Tuesday. It helps you mentally sort the ghosters from the people just taking a break.
Feeld: Whereas Feeld skips the receipts. You send a message and hope for the best. That ambiguity can be maddening, especially when your brain spirals into “Did I say something weird?” territory.
👉 Winner: 3Fun, just for the peace of mind that comes with knowing.

💸 Price, Subscription & What You Get
Both Feeld and 3Fun use a freemium model, which we love. That means you can create a profile, start swiping, and even message matches, all without spending a dime. It’s smart – it keeps the apps accessible, helps build critical mass, and doesn’t put all the goodies behind a paywall. For many users (especially casual explorers or the voyeur-curious), the free version works just fine.
Another bonus? Both apps run their payments through Apple Pay or Google Pay, not some shady website. You can start or stop your subscription directly in your phone settings without having to cancel through customer service.
3Fun: More expensive than Feeld. You can access a lot for free, and their premium version is around $30 for 1 month, $40 for 3 months. But so you might as well get locked in for 3 months for an extra $10 bucks. So keep on swiping! If you lose interest after 2 weeks, you’re stuck. Maybe that’s why so many messages end up unread…
Feeld: Monthly memberships start very modestly at around $16–$25, depending on the deals, and you can cancel anytime. You also get premium perks like seeing who’s liked you – so you’re not swiping in the dark. We found this feature incredibly useful when we were short on time but long on options.
👉 Winner: Feeld, for flexibility and better value for active users.

💎 Is 3Fun Premium Worth It?
So you’re thinking of going premium on 3Fun? Here’s what you unlock when you pony up the $33 for 3 months – and honestly, it’s not a bad deal if you’re already using the app and trying to make something happen. Will I re-up next week? Probably not. Feeld has stolen my heart.
Unlimited Swiping: No more getting capped mid-swipe sesh. You can like as many hotties as your thumbs can handle.
Message Before Matching: You get 5 golden tickets per week to message someone before you match. Total game-changer if you’re not trying to play swipe roulette.
Last Seen Info: You’ll know when someone last logged on, which saves you from pouring your soul into a message to someone who hasn’t opened the app since 2022.
Boosted Profile: Your profile gets shown 10x more than regular ones. Translation: more eyeballs, more chances, more chaos (the good kind).
Read Receipts: You’ll see when someone actually opens your message—so you’ll know if you’re being ghosted or just ignored. Empowering, right?
Location Roaming: Travel kinksters rejoice. You can browse and swipe anywhere in the world – hello, sexy strangers in Ibiza.
Incognito Mode: Want to swipe without being seen? You can hide your profile until you like someone first. Creepy but convenient.
Hide Your Distance: Control what people see about how close (or far) you are. No more giving away your zip code with your thirst.
Sort Your Feed: You can filter prospects by distance, last login, name, etc. Basically, you become a swipe queen with admin powers.
Sticky Favorites: Pin your favorite matches to the top of your feed so they don’t get lost in the sexy shuffle.
👉 Bottom line? For about $11 a month, 3Fun Premium gives you solid tools to cut through the flakiness and maybe—just maybe—turn your swipe into a story worth telling. Totally worth it if you’re going to give 3Fun a shot.

🏁 Final Verdict: Who Wins?
Look, 3Fun has potential. The roam setting, the photo zoom, the “Passed” tab – they all make it a well-designed app. But the issue isn’t design. It’s the crowd. Or rather, the lack of one. It might be more bustling in your metropolis, but we’ve tried it in multiple cities and Feeld soars over 3F every time.
We matched with exactly one person on 3Fun who we ended up meeting—and it was an amazing time! But after 3 months, endless swipes, and lots of unread messages, it just doesn’t hold the serious userbase that Feeld possesses.
Meanwhile, Feeld gave us options every single weekend. The people are active, engaged, and most importantly, real.
👉 Bottom line: If you’re serious about threesomes, kink, or anything spicy, Feeld is your best bet. Unless and until 3Fun can build a bigger, more intentioned user base, it’s going to stay a backup option—not a main event.
