Reno’s Pokher Nights Review: Snowed In, Stripped Down, and Shocked

New Swinger Podcast | Apple | Spotify

We braved a blizzard to visit Pokher Nights in Reno, where the vibe was flirty, the decor was lowbrow, and the security guards were a little too involved in the action.

By: Kat Swings

We trekked to Pokher Nights (PK Social Club) in the middle of a white-knuckle blizzard while on a family ski trip to Tahoe. Was it our brightest idea? Absolutely not. But sexy fun knows no season, especially for Kat & Leo — and we were determined to thaw out our libidos. We paid $100 for Friday entry, which came with a free return for Saturday… and because we’re suckers for getting our money’s worth (and possibly frostbite), we plowed through snow drifts and went back again. Commitment? Delusion? Who’s to say.

Join Kat & Leo as they dish up swinger club reviews and lots of questionable newbie advice on the Vanilla Swingers podcast

👀 First Impressions – If you’ve ever been to Red Rooster or Whispers in Las Vegas, this is Reno’s spiritual cousin. Think country-home-turned-lifestyle-lounge with major downhome energy. Add in some leisure suit Larry vibes, and you have the making of a 70’s porno. It’s giving community center meets your uncle’s rec room — all shapes, sizes, vibes, and sexual energies under one snow-covered roof.

The check-in was smooth, casual, and friendly. Everyone working the front desk felt like they were part of the family – which leads to both pros and cons, but more on that later. For now, just know that it felt cozy and welcoming, albeit very… local.

PSST! Don't Miss!

Green Door Review

🎟️ Inside Tour – Once you step inside Pokher Nights, the first thing you’ll notice is… this ain’t a nightclub. It’s more like someone’s cousin converted their country house into a 2-story 70’s swinger pad. We’re not mad at it, just setting expectations. You check in with the sweetest owner at a small front desk in a cozy lounge-style entry with couches and low lighting, and from there, the whole space unfolds with quirky, homemade charm.

The main floor includes a comfy lounge area for chatting, a dry bar with mixers, a few conversation nooks, and a pool table to add to the dive bar feel. There’s a small dance floor, a stripper pole (you know someone’s gonna test it after two White Claws), and a wall of lockers to stash your stuff. Some themed rooms and semi-private spaces are scattered around this level, including an area with a swing and mirrors for the more adventurous. This is where most of the mingling and drinking goes down, and the lights stay low to keep the vibe soft and sexy.

But the real action? That happens upstairs. This second floor features multiple playrooms, including both open spaces and curtained-off rooms for a bit more discretion. There’s also a voyeur room behind a sliding glass door, a group play area that was definitely built for putting on a show, and some kink furniture like spanking benches and a St. Andrew’s cross. If anything’s happening, this is where it’s going down.

In total, the club feels like it’s doing its best with the space it has — and while it’s not going to win any design awards, it’s got that scrappy, community-built charm that some folks actually prefer. You’re not here for chandeliers. You’re here for connection… and maybe a little consensual chaos.

🥂 Bar – What bar? This is DIY country. At Pokher Nights, you don’t belly up to some fancy counter with a mixologist; you head to the fridge. Yep, they give you access to the communal fridge, and it’s pretty much pour-your-own-vibe from there. We’re talking self-serve beer and wine, and if you want something stronger (vodka + cranberry, anyone?), the lady of the house will help you with mixers at a makeshift bar setup.

It’s casual. It’s quirky. It’s definitely not licensed. But if you came prepared and know how to mix a decent drink, you’ll be just fine. Just don’t expect bottle service unless you’re bringing it yourself.

🎵 DJ / Danceclub – Downstairs doubles as the club’s main living room, literally. There’s an open space for dancing, flanked by a few low tables and some scattered hightops. An actual DJ (yep, not just someone’s Spotify playlist) is wedged into the corner, spinning dancey-but-not-too-loud tracks that keep things sexy but social. The dance area spills into a bigger common space with a pool table and a foosball table — both of which were packed all night. Shoutout to the topless babe dominating at foosball like it was the Olympics of Foreplay.

🍒 Playrooms – It’s a house. Pure and simple. So naturally, the playrooms feel like—wait for it—guest rooms. We’re talking low ceilings, standard beds, nightstands, and just enough lube to remind you it’s not Grandma’s. The downstairs has about three rooms you can close for privacy or leave open if you’re feeling frisky.

Two of those rooms each had a single king-sized bed—one of them came fully equipped with a sex swing, which honestly felt like overachieving in a space that still had baseboards from 1994. But our favorite? The larger room with two king beds nearly touching. This is where we popped our Pokher cherry. We were on one bed, another couple on the other. They invited us over. We agreed. What started as parallel play quickly turned into light touching, and then? 🔥 Let’s just say we made our $100 back in some soft swap spaghetti memories.

There’s also a “group room,” which just means 2–3 beds crammed together with another sex swing in the corner. It sounds hot in theory – until you walk in and see Mr. Security going full doggy-style on a guest mid-shift. (Yeah, more on that below.) Head upstairs and you’ll find a room separated by a sliding glass door and sheer curtains. We thought: Fun! Voyeur central! We went at it with the curtains open, waiting for a line of admirers. Instead, just one lonely lurker parked it – and unfortunately, not our type. Not exactly the hot audience we envisioned.

PK Social Club Pokher Knights gloryhole

“The gloryhole room nobody asked for… but everybody’s secretly curious about. BYO disinfectant and bad decisions?“

🛎️ Staff – We’ve gotta say it – the biggest red flag of the weekend was the lack of separation between staff and play. Early in the night, we were shown around by a friendly, professional-seeming security guy who told us, “If any creeps bother you, just say the word.” We felt safe and looked after.

Fast forward a couple hours… we walk into the group room and boom — that same security guy is deep inside a woman doggy-style, mid-session. We made eye contact. He made no attempt to be discreet. Five minutes later, he throws his security suspenders back on and starts clearly flirting with us, like we would be his next conquest. Um, no.

We’re all for people enjoying the lifestyle – but when the bouncer starts bouncing his own way through the guest list, it crosses a line. This isn’t a frat party. This is supposed to be a safe space, and security should be, well, security.

🔥 Vibe Check – Despite the staffing issues, there’s a certain charm to Pokher Nights. It’s not polished. It’s not curated. But it’s real. The people are kind, the energy is low-pressure, and it’s refreshingly unpretentious. This isn’t a place where everyone looks like a filtered dating app pic — this is real couples, real bodies, real play. Country cool.

That said, when staff members get too comfortable blurring the lines, it undermines the trust that holds places like this together.

PK Social Club Pokher Knights hot tub

✅ Would we go back? – Maybe. If we were already in Tahoe and itching for some weekend fun, we’d give it another go – preferably when the roads are clear, our car isn’t fishtailing, and the security team isn’t so… hands-on. But it’s not a must-do destination. Pokher Nights is perfect if you’re looking for a no-frills, low-key place to dip into the lifestyle without all the glitz. Just pack your expectations somewhere between “sexy dive bar” and “PTA meeting with benefits.”
